Welcome to Achieving Greatness Behavioral Engineering.

It's not what you say that is important, but what you do.

Our behaviours define who we are, whether we are an individual or an organisation. We are judged not by our words, or our intentions but by those things that we actually DO.

If we can change our behaviors, we change our perception of ourselves, and the perceptions of others. We can achieve more, be more successful and be more profitable in all areas.

But change isn't easy, no matter what anyone will tell you. Yes the intention to change can be created in an instant, and some changes can be just as quick, but to make real, lasting and defining changes to our behaviours takes more work.

This is where Behavioral Engineering comes in. Behavioral Engineering is the process of taking sound Psychological and Neurological processes and applying them to achieve a particular result. Just as a Mechanical Engineer will use the rules and science of mechanics to build everything from a washing machine to the space shuttle, so Behavioral Engineers will take the rules and science of the mind and construct everything from new approaches to personal fear, to new organizational processes that transform a business.

Behavioral Engineering is a new discipline and covers a whole host of different tools and techniques, many of which are still in their infancy. This website is my attempt to bring much of this information together in a usable form.

Please be aware that Behavioral Engineering relies on an eclectic mix of ideas and approaches and that is reflected in this website, so don't be put off by some of the subjects that you will find here.

If you want any further information about Behavioral Engineering, or want to discuss your particular issues, don't hesitate to contact me.

About Our Tutorials

"Give a man a fish and he feeds himself for a day. Teach a man to fish and he feeds himself for a lifetime."

We've all heard this saying, and it is one of life's truisms that if you know how to do something, you then have the ability to do it yourself. It doesn't mean you will do it, but you do have the ability to do it.

That's why I've added a tutorials section to the website. I want to give people the opportunity to make the changes to their lives, without having to spend a ton of money learning how.

Over the past 20 years I have taken more than 3,000 hours of classroom training in Clinical Hypnosis, Hypnotherapy, Psychology, Coaching and a whole range of other subjects. I've also watched hundreds of videos, and taken numerous online and distance learning courses. This has cost me dearly in both time and money, and I learned some very valuable lessons.

I know that there are lots of people out there offering training in Hypnosis, NLP and a whole host of other self-help tools, and that is great. I wish you all the best in that. But to be honest, the average course runs to about £1600 (about $2400), which really puts it out of the range of 90% of people, and (this is what irks me somewhat) many of the training courses just aren't good value for money.

Intelligent Warrior Subliminal Video Review

I recently came across the Intelligent Warrior subliminal video series and, as usual, was trying to find some balanced reviews. As with a great many of these tools and techniques that regularly appear, there only ever seems to be upbeat and positive reports, often gushingly so, often without any objectivity.

There is  great deal of misunderstanding about subliminal messaging and how it works, in fact the original work on subliminal advertising which took place in the 1950's has recently beed debunked as nothing more than urban legend, and yes, there was an experiment, but no it didn't work.

Whenever people look at changing themselves they want the quick fix, the no-effort answer, and yes, there are some solutions that seem to work like magic, but they do so because the person is ready to change. The subliminal messaging works on the same principle, but is more generic in its approach. And that brings me on to Intelligent Warrior.

Whenever I come across a series of blogs about a product that are nothing but positive, but also have no real substance I start to feel a little suspicious. Too often blogs have been created as 'sneaker-ads' that push a product by saying how wonderful it is, and that immediately pushed my 'skeptic' button. If this product were so great it would be all over the news, and  yet I just stumbled across it, and I go looking for self-development products.

So, what am I going to do in this blog. Well I am going to document my progress with the Intelligent Warrior program to see if it really does what it says on the tin.

I am going to watch the videos every morning for 20-minutes, each week I will vary the video schedule, adding and subtracting different modules as I go to see what (if anything) changes.

This will be no holds barred, the good, the bad and the ugly just to see if these things actually work. As time allows I will also add articles about some of the science (fact and fiction) about subliminals and what they are supposed to do (or not do).

So, off we go on yet another 'life-changing' experience.

Book Review - Hypnosis: A Comprehensive Guide by Tad James

Tad James is well known in the NLP community as the mind behind TimeLine Therapy, and this work on Hypnosis comes with high praise and high recommendation, however it is not without some considerable flaws.

Hypnosis: A Comprehensive Guide runs to a little over 200 pages, however this hides the fact that there is a lot of repetition in the book, and much of the information within it can be found in many other books. Perhaps the biggest negative aspect of this book is the focus on inductions, and is less a comprehensive guide and much more of a general overview.
