Over the years I have studied a great deal about the human mind and one of the things that I keep stumbling over is the Memory and ways to improve it. There has been a great deal of information written about this subject from various angles including where memory sits (including organ based memory), how it works and how to get the best out of what you have got.
The last couple of years there has seen a great deal of interest in 'brain training' programs that offer memory improvement as a byproduct of playing them. And yes there is some evidence that this approach can help for some short term memory work, however what has become clear is that long term memory improvement requires a different approach.
Those people who have good memories, or require good memories all use a similar method, something often referred to as the Journey Method, and one of the easiest (and often most impressive) examples of the Journey Method is its use to memorize playing cards.
As a practical introduction to the method, and a useful tool I developed MnemeCards which will show you how to remember and recall the order of a pack of cards. This is a simple to use application which can be really useful in improving your memory.
MnemeCards is available from the App Store now.
The LITE version of the Trainers Toolbox gives you access to all of the facilities with the main applications, but you are limitd to just 10 training activities. We offer this as an example, and as a useful tool for those who really don't need access to the full library of training activites.
