Phobias

What is a Phobia?

A Phobia is an strong irrational fear that has a significant impact on our lives. A fear of heights is normal, a fear of open spaces is not, and becomes a phobia (agoraphobia). A fear of drowning in deep water is normal, a fear of water is not, and becomes a phobia (Hydrophobia).

Surprisingly, fear is a good thing, it is designed to keep us out of harms way, and is an important part of our lives. We are born with just two instinctive fears, the fear of falling (but not the fear of heights) and the fear of loud noises. These fears have been specifically designed to keep us alive.

As we grow we 'learn' to have more fears, and occasionally the wiring of these fears go beyond the normal into the realm of the abnormal. It is this point where a rational fear becomes irrational and a can have a significant impact on our daily lives.

Symptoms of a Phobia

Although the subjects of phobias are quite varied the symptoms follow a similar pattern. The phobic response consists of:

  • Increased Heart Rate
  • Anxiety
  • Sweating
  • Nausea
  • Feelings of panic
  • A need to run away
Often these symptoms are so severe that the individual is physically debilitated during the phobic attack.

Fast Phobia Cure

The majority of Phobias come from a single, early childhood experience and this will impact on a person for the rest of their lives.

However it doesn't have to be that way as there is a technique called the 'Fast Phobia Cure', which is derived from NLP and has been found to be very effective for 90% of all phobias, even ones that have been around for years.

Often it is simply a case of re-evaluating the past experience and adding a new dimension to the emotional response. Since Phobias form in a matter of moments, the cure needs to be done quickly too, and this is where the Fast Phobia Cure comes in. The Fast Phobia Cure takes between 5-15 minutes and can even be done over the phone!
