Typical Treatment Plan
All of our Clinical Hypnosis sessions start the same way with a Hypnosis information session. We find that so many people come to us with a skewed idea of what Hypnosis is and how it works that we need to re-educate them as to the facts and realities of what we can and (more importantly) can't do with hypnosis.
We will then discuss with you your reasons for wanting to stop smoking. It is at this point we will identify whether you are ready for change, either you are, and we will proceed with the Hypnosis, or you are not ready, in which case we will tell you to come back soon.
We know that you need to be ready to change for Hypnosis to work, and we tell almost 60% of people who come to us on their first visit that they are not yet ready or that their reasons just aren't right. We want you to be a success at stopping smoking, and we can only do that if we know that you are ready. Don't worry, if we feel that now is not the time, then we don't charge you.
Once we have established that you have the right motivation, and that now is the right time for you, then we will get you into a hypnotic state and offer you hypnotic suggestions that we know are successful. We get about a 90% success rate with our clients, but remember this is from just 40% of people who come to us.
The hypnosis part of the session takes between 20-40 minutes depending upon how quickly you enter a deep hypnotic state. During this time we will go through a range of suggestions designed to transform you into a non-smoker.
At the end of the session, we will bring you out of the hypnotic state as a non-smoker.

applies, but the habit has been established and people continue to smoke long after the perceived benefit has disappeared.
I have found that people who are given a hypnosis CD as part of their Smoking Cessation therapy have a lower rate of success. Not because of the therapist, who may be very good, but the psychological pressure that the CD brings with it. Many people think that if they don't listen to the CD then they will fail, the problem is that life gets in the way, they don't get chance to listen to the CD, and guess what? They fail.
